Yet, Tesla refuses to listen to the multitudes calling for change. <br><br>One such &#8216;fault&#8217; is the voice on Tesla&#8217;s navigation system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The female voice provided by Tesla works well most of the time, so there&#8217;s no problem with the voice. <br><br>However, Tesla owners would love more variation &#8211; a male voice or another woman&#8217;s voice, perhaps &#8211; but Tesla has refused to offer that option.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I use the word &#8216;refuse&#8217; because you&#8217;ll find people requesting more voice options on Tesla navigation in <a href=\"https:\/\/teslamotorsclub.com\/tmc\/threads\/voice-choices-in-my.225735\/#:~:text=You%20cannot%20change%20it.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">almost every Tesla owner&#8217;s forum<\/a>. For instance, Teslas in German-speaking countries have a female navigator speaking German.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Given Tesla&#8217;s convenient software update system, it&#8217;s somewhat surprising that Tesla hasn&#8217;t made more navigation voices available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late 2021, Tesla introduced a software update that finally added waypoints to navigation. It showed that Tesla could improve navigation, but only when they wanted to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps Tesla sees the request to add more voices as trivial. <br><br>However, some may view such an update as more critical than an upcoming feature that will allow Teslas with an external speaker to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notateslaapp.com\/software-updates\/upcoming-features\/id\/726\/new-tesla-voice-command-will-let-your-car-fart#:~:text=Coming%20soon%20to%20all%20Tesla,recent%20tweet%20earlier%20in%20March.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">play fart sounds<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>Pro Tip: Do Teslas have a hidden navigation feature?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If you\u2019re on your way home and don\u2019t feel like entering the destination, you can just swipe your finger down over the navigation button. From there the car will automatically predict where you want to go, like Work or Home.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use Other Navigation Apps To Play Your Preferred Voice on Tesla Speakers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It would be irresponsible of me not to provide you with a solution to your voice navigation issue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The navigation voice is a convenient tool that guides you to your destination while ensuring that your eyes remain on the road. Therefore, turning voice navigation off isn&#8217;t always viable or safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tesla allows you to use third-party navigation software, including Google Maps and Waze. <br><br>However, this software doesn&#8217;t provide an avenue for one to access another Tesla navigation voice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>By the way, if you&#8217;d like to find out more about the relationship between Tesla and Waze, check out this related article that I wrote. Tesla Waze provides more traffic information than the default Tesla navigation system.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The only way to access the voice you want while driving your Tesla is to ignore Tesla&#8217;s navigation system and use whichever navigation app you want on your smartphone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the Tesla&#8217;s speakers to amplify the navigator&#8217;s voice. The company also strives to improve user experience. That&#8217;s why it introduced handy features like autonomous driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, the company seems to have ignored the problems with the navigation voice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2021, Elon Musk, who&#8217;s seemingly obsessed with Twitter, bragged about the immersive experience offered by the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.evspeedy.com\/tesla-sounds-noises\/\" title=\"Tesla sound\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Tesla sound<\/a> system. <br><br>However, he forgot to mention that the navigation voice comes on just as the song hits its crescendo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s no way to set the navigation system to speak at certain times. It will speak when programmed to do so, regardless of whatever else your speakers are relaying.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would be convenient if the system would pause your music for a moment as the navigation system offers its guidance. However, Tesla doesn&#8217;t provide that option.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can either turn the navigation voice off or listen to the programmed female voice whenever she feels like speaking.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Can You Do to Let Your Voice (Command) Be Heard?!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;ve come this far in this article, it&#8217;s obviously something that bugs you very much, and quite understandably so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What can we as Tesla owners do to get Elon and Tesla to change their minds? How can we get them to add additional and optional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.evspeedy.com\/third-party-navigation-apps\/\">Tesla navigation<\/a> voices? <br><br>We paid premium bucks for our shiny cars, and we demand our voices be heard! This is a first-world problem damn it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, this might not sound like much, but if we all try these following tactics together, it might actually get their attention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:video\">\n<li><strong>The Tesla Bug Reporter. <\/strong>When something bugs you (joke) or if the car is doing something that it&#8217;s not supposed to do (mostly Autopilot stuff) you can use the Bug reporter to let Tesla know that something is not right. <br><br>So when you hear a voice command, just hit the mic button and say &#8220;feedback&#8221;. Then you can give your feedback as you wish. This is intended for safety defects, but it will be logged nonetheless. <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tweet <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@ElonMusk<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tesla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@Tesla<\/a><\/strong> and ask them politely to make your changes. You never know, maybe you will time it just right when Elon is taking out his phone. Which seems to be a lot these days. <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you&#8217;re a Tesla Shareholder, you can <strong>take your concerns to the Tesla Annual Shareholders meeting<\/strong>, which is held in October in most years.
